Dear Franklin Elementary School Families,
Welcome to the 2019-2020 School Year!!! Our Opening Day falls on August 28th and we will be kicking off the year with our Franklin Elementary School Open House on Monday, September 9th at 6:00 PM. During this launch we will be welcoming everyone back and introducing the newest members of our FES community.
Mr. Zaklukiewicz – Physical Education Teacher and Athletic Director
Mr. DelVento – General Music, Band, and Chorus Teacher
Ms. Littlefield – Language Arts Tutor
Ms. White – Paraprofessional
You are also all invited to a Meet and Greet on August 27th at 2pm in our FES library if you would like to meet and welcome our new additions in person before the school year begins.
Our 2019-20 School Calendar, bus routes, Athletic and Student Handbooks, food service information, and school news can all be viewed on the updated Franklin Elementary School website, www.franklinschoolct.org. The Kindergarten through Grade 4 teacher assignments have already been shared through letters from the classroom teachers. Homeroom assignments for the middle school are: Mr. Anglim (Grade 5), Mr. Baran (Grade 6), Ms. Rhodes (Grade 7), and Mrs. Flaherty (Grade 8).
Every student will be receiving an Opening Day Packet on the first day of school. Please complete and return the student emergency forms as soon as possible. A Student Agenda, or assignment tracker, will be provided to all students in grades 5-8. We ask that parents work as part of our team in monitoring the proper use of the agenda to maximize student performance and to strengthen communication between home and school. This partnership, along with using PowerSchool, is an effective way to monitor your child’s performance, attendance, and class schedule. If you do not have login credentials for PowerSchool, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to make a request.
On behalf of the staff at FES, we all look forward to a fantastic year WITH you and your student!!! Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions. For now, please enjoy the rest of your summer.
Mr. Greg Keith, Principal
